Roller-skating, Pavel Sedmak International Cup
has been a great success
30th september/1th october - Roller-skating;
Opčine; with the awarding and the exhibition of
some famous
skaters,
among which there was also the World Champion Tanja
Romano, at the renovated "Pikelc Sports Center" it
ended the international match of the Pavel Sedmak
International Cup. The event, flawlessly organised
by ŠD Polet, has been an all-round success.
Sailing, Barcolina: Tito Rodda's big success (Čupa)
1th - Sailing; Trst; Optimist Class; Čupa's representative
Tito Rodda won the Junior category of the first youth
boat-race "Barcolina", where more than 300
young yachtsmen from Austria, Germany, Croatia, Slovenia
and Italy competed.
Roller-skating, 11. Vipava Cup: competition with clubs from Croatia, Slovenia and Italy
1th - Roller-skating; Peč (Sovodnje); 49 competitors
from Croatia, Slovenia and Italy competed at the
11th Edition of the Vipava International Cup. Clubs'
ranking: 1. Ronchi, 2. Pattinaggio San Floreano,
3. Domžale, 4. Perla, 5. Uljanik, 6. Roller. The
Vipava home club, being the organiser of the event,
did not compete.

Motorcycling, Kawasaki Trophy:
Mitja Emili ranks 2nd
1th - Motorcycling; Imola; Kawasaki Trophy; at the
end of the last race, our motor-cycler Mitja Emili
ranked 6th and had to content himself with "only" the
2nd place, which represents an incredible achievement.
The overall winner was Di Luca with 106 pts., Emili
was second with 91 pts.
Soccer: Claudio Sari is Sovodnje's new coach:
he substitutes Stojan Kravos
2th - Soccer; Sovodnje; Claudio Sari, who in the last
season coached Fogliano, is Sovodnje's new coach (2nd
Amateur League). Sari substituted Stojan Kravos, who
resigned.
Basketball: Bor team presentation
4th - Basketball; Trst; at the "Prvi maj Sports
Center" there was the presentation of the Bor
team and its sponsors. Due to the absence of KK Bor
President Bruno Kneipp, the introductory speech was
presented by Vice-president Renato Štokelj, then the
Technical Director Andrea Mura spoke about the team's
goals. Rado Šušteršič, who hosted the event, presented
the first team and the Under 21 team. Greetings were
presented also by sponsors' representatives.
Basketball:
Sokol Ca' D'Oro team presentation
5th - Basketball; Nabrežina; at "Bar Igor" there
was the official presentation of the Sokol team, supported
by the new sponsor Ca' D'Oro. The event was hosted
by the popular local actor Matej Gruden.
Alpine climbing: Marko Humar did not reached the top
of the Čo Oyu, an 8,000 m high mountain
7th - Alpine climbing; Himalaya; our fellow countryman
and SPDG member Marko Humar did not reached the top
of the Čo Oyu, an 8,000 m high mountain, but he reached
the excellent height of 7,600 m; at this point he
had to return back to the camp.
Volleyball, Govolley's International Tournament
7th/8th - Volleyball; Gorica; Govolley organised
an international youth women tournament for the
City
of Gorica Cup. Kamnik won ahead of Govolley, Torriano
and Sloga.
Sailing, Barcolana: Alfa Romeo wins ahead of Maxi Jena, "our" Esimit ranks 4th
8th - Sailing; Trst; Barcolana; this year's mass boat-race,
with 1,788 participants, was won by the favourite
Alfa Romeo, piloted by the New Zealander Neville
Crichton, ahead of the surprising Maxi Jena, piloted
by Mitja Kosmina, and Maximus. "Our" excellent
Esimit Evropa, owned by Gorica's businessman Igor
Simčič, which raced for TPK Sirena, ranked 4th.
Poreč, Unione Italiana - ZSŠDI Meeting
8th - Poreč; At the sport and tourism complex
Zelena Laguna in Poreč it took place the 5th Edition
of
the traditional
sport meeting between the Združenje Slovenskih Športnih
Društev v Italiji and the Unione Italiana from Istria.

Athletics, Fabio Ruzzier is the Italian Champion in the Master 50 category of the 30 km March
8th - Athletics; Maranello; Italian Championship and
Master; 30 km March; our walker Fabio Ruzzier (Atletica
Gorizia) ranked 11th and became the Italian Champion
in the Master 50 category with a new national record
of 2.34:5,0. The overall champion is the South-Tyrolese
Alex Schwazer (Carabinieri) with 2.16:29,0. In the
Master 50 category Ruzzier won ahead of Tomoborini
with a 24 seconds advantage.
Press-conference to celebrate 1 million visitors of our web-site

Zadružna kraška banka it took place the press-conference
to celebrate 1 million visitors of our web-site
www.slosport.org during only the first nine months
of the current year. After the introductory greetings
presented by ZSŠDI President Jure Kufersin, a short
speech was presented by web-site's editor Branko
Lakovič. The conference was hosted by Rado Šušteršič.

Volleyball: Sloga's teams presentation
10th - Volleyball; Opčine/Opicina; at the Pizzeria
Veto restaurant there was the presentation of Sloga's
volleyball
teams that will compete in national and regional
leagues. After the introductory greetings presented
by club's President Vojko Miot, the teams were presented
also by chief coach Ivan Peterlin.
At Gorica's clubs meeting also about media

called by the ZSŠDI, the discussion covered also
the media,
in particular our web-site. Those, who were present,
congratulated the web-site editor for the important
achievement: 1 million visitors during only nine
months of the current year.

Logatec wins among men, Gornja Vežica wins
among women, Sloga ranks 2nd twice
15th - Volleyball; at Prosek and Opčine gyms, organised
by ŠZ Sloga, there was the 18th Edition of the Sonja
Kokoravec Memorial, an international youth tournament
for men and women in the Under 18 category. Among
men the victory went to Logatec, ahead of Sloga and
Rijeka, among women to Gornja Vežica (Croatia), ahead
of Sloga and Mežica (Slovenia). -> comment and

In-line hockey: Polet wins the Agnul Memorial
14th./15th - In-line hockey; Opčine; Polet Kwins won,
for the first time in eight editions, the Agnul
Memorial Tournament organised by the Polet club
to remember its unforgettable player. Polet players
firstly beat the Rams team from Milan 8:2, than
they beat also Vicenza 5:4 in the crucial match.
Vicenza ranked 2nd, after beating Rams Milano 7:5.
Athletics: Fabio Ruzzier excellent at the 100 km March
15th - Athletics; Scanzorosciate (Bergamo); at the
Italian Championship in the 100 km Outdoor March
category, our walker Fabio Ruzzier, with an excellent
time of 9.58:14,0, ranked 10th and became Italy's
Vice-champion. He achieved the Italian and the World
record in the veterans category and the Friuli Venezia
Giulia overall regional record. 50 athletes from
11 European countries competed. The winner was the
Belorussian Viktor Ginko with 9.17:06,0. The first
Italian ranked 9th and it was Roberto Defendenzi
with 9.53:49,0.
Volleyball: Soča's first team and new sponsor presentation
19th - Volleyball; Sovodnje; at the premises of Sovodnje's
Bank there was the presentation of Soča's first
team, which will compete in the C League, and of
the new sponsor Zadružna banka Doberdob in Sovodnje. The numerous guests were greeted
by club's President Benjamin Černic, who presented
every single player.
Mario Šušteršič received an award in Škofja Loka
19th - Škofja Loka (Slovenia) - Our sport lover and
journalist Mario Šušteršič received an award for
his long-lasting collaboration between our and Škofja
Loka athletes.
Skiing, in Opčine was presented the project
Ski Pool Gadi
20th - Skiing; at the premises of the Zadružna kraška
banka in Opčine, in front of numerous guests, skiing
lovers and skiers of both clubs, was presented the
joint project SK Devin and AŠD Mladina Ski Pool Gadi.
After the introductory speeches of both Presidents,
Dario Stolfa and Boris Bogatec, the project was illustrated
by Mladina's Committee Member Sonja Sirk. The presentation
was hosted by Nadja Kralj.
Sport fishing: Sirena welcomes its world champions
20th - Sport fishing; TPK Sirena welcomed Janko Brecelj,
Devan Radovič and Andrea Lisjak, who won the Team
Cup at the Youth Team Championship in Portugal for
the Italian national team. The event took place
at TPK SIrena's premises in Barcola in front of
numerous members and guests.
Sergio Veljak, one of our best all-time volleyball players, died
20th - Trst/Trieste; at 62 years of age, one of our
best all-time volleyball players, Sergio Veljak,
suddenly
died
from a hearth attack. He started his successful
volleyball career in 1961 at Bor, then he played
for the Florentine team Ruini in the A League and
won the Italian Championship. He also played 36
matches for the Italian national team.
"Sportiva 2006" in Gorica,
ZSŠDI presented its own stand
21/22th - Gorica/Gorizia; ZSŠDI participated at the
event for the promotion of women's sport "Sportiva
2006" with its own stand. Other clubs that collaborated
were KK Šilec, Govolley, Dom, Olympia and Vipava.

Motorcycling, 600 Stock Sport UEM:
Mitja Emili is the European Champion
22th - Motorcycling; Cartagena (Spain) - Mitja Emili
won the European Championship in the 600 Stock Sport
UEM category.
Jadran's Basketball project presentation
23th - Basketball; Briščiki; at the gym of the multifunctional
center in Briščiki there was the presentation
of Jadran's Basketball project that includes, a
part
from Jadran, also Dom, Kontovel, Polet and Sokol
teams with nearly 200 players. The official speech
was presented by Jadran's Technical Manager Marco
Corsi, whereas Andrej Vremec illustrated project's
goals. The successful event was hosted by our
popular basketball commentator Sergio Tavčar.
Our national representative Emilio Rapotec died
25th - Udine; at 64 years of age, at the Udine hospital,
where he was operated, died Emilio Rapotec, an excellent
rower who raced for the Italian national team for
the first time at the World Championship in Bled.
Cheerdance Millenium on RAI 1 TV channel
27. - Rome; our cheer-leading team Cheerdance Millenium performed on the first Italian national channel RAI 1 during the popular show "Il treno dei desideri", hosted by Antonella Clerici.
Bowling, ZSŠDI Championship:
final event and awards
27. - Prečnik/Precenicco; in an extremely pleasant
atmosphere there was the final event of the Championship
with
the awarding of this year's winners, organised by
the ZSŠDI Bowling Commission. After the introductory
speech by the President of the Bowling Commission
Eligio Kante, member of ZSŠDI, Damjan Pertot
presented his speech. The championship ended with
the victory
of Sokol ahead of Kras, Mak and Kraški dom. All other
teams ranked 5th.
